Roy Yeo and Gek Choo share their journey with BBG
God has blessed our business and finances tremendously through BBG
I joined BBG in around 2003 from a CHC home cell. At that point of time my annual business turnover was only around $180,000 and I was sharing the revenue with a partner. On the first day of my visit in BBG, which was then in American Club, I started serving God by helping to move the sound equipment. I also observed that the chorus board was short handed as it was not an easy task. I found that there was a need and I took up the challenge. I approached Eng Han to serve in the ministry and since then, I have been serving in this ministry till now.
As I served more in BBG in areas of need, God taught me what servanthood is about - meeting needs of others. My attitude towards my clients changed and I began to solve their problems as if I was serving God. As a result, more customers were recommended to me and many customers wrote in letters of commendation to my company. Consequently, my company’s turnover grew by 60% in 2004.
In 2005, with advice from BBG leaders, I managed to buy out my partner, which means it is 100% owned by me. This year, the company turnover grew by another 60%.
In 2006, Eng Han visited our small office in the outskirts and advised us to move to a better office in city. We immediately acted upon his advice and moved to Beach Road Plaza. With better company image, our business grew by another 20% in that year.
In 2007, we published our first book and received support from more than 40 top CEOs and leaders. We started being invited to radio interviews to talk about issues regarding safety and health. As a result our business grew by another 60%.
In 2008, we managed to add a bigger training room and we used it to serve God by offering it rent free to church and ministry events. God is faithful. Our training room become very popular and many companies started to rent our training place to conduct seminars. As a result, our company received good and consistent monthly rental income from private companies. In this year, God also increased our revenue to exceed US $1 million. God also increased our property ownership from 1 in 2003 to 5 in early 2008.
God has blessed us with awesome and supportive people in BBG
After one miscarriage in 2006, we thought that we would never have any children, as we are no longer young. Pastor Ming prayed for us and said that Gek Choo will be like Sarah in the Bible. Through the support of BBG people, we believed and continued to pray. God blessed our family tremendously. He gave us a son name Solomon and a baby daughter, Esther who will be born in July.
In November 2007, Gek Choo was rushed to the hospital Intensive Care Unit due to a severe headache and was consequently diagnosed with a rare disease in her brain. The neurologist said that her condition may be fatal and even if she recovers, her brain functions may be affected. Pastor Ming and Eng Han rushed to the hospital in the middle of night to pray for her. When her condition was revealed, the whole BBG prayed for her. Through strong prayers and support, God miraculously healed her completely 3 months later.
We are always thankful to God and people in BBG that cared for us and supported us. With this testimony, we will continue to serve God unfailingly in the marketplace and in the ministries.
